Danni Barry hails from the Mourne country in Northern Ireland. Her culinary journey began in 2003 at the Michelin-starred Deanes in Howard Street, where she worked alongside chef Michael Deane. She started as a kitchen porter and later transitioned to becoming a chef after attending a catering college in Newry, Northern Ireland.
Barry traveled around the world to gain experience as a chef, including working at Simon Rogan’s renowned L’Enclume restaurant.
She served as a sous chef under Raymond McCardle at Restaurant 23.
In 2014, Danni Barry returned to Northern Ireland and opened the restaurant Eipic as head chef under Michael Deane. Within just 18 months, she achieved a Michelin star, becoming the only female chef in Ireland to hold this prestigious award and only the second ever.
Barry showcased her talent on the BBC Two cooking competition “Great British Menu” in 2015, representing Northern Ireland.
Irish Chef of the Year: In 2016, she was named Irish Chef of the Year at the Irish Restaurant Awards.
After leaving Eipic, Danni Barry joined Ballynahinch Castle in Connemara, Galway, where she continues to create exceptional culinary experiences as the executive chef.
