Overview

Ron Blaauw is a Dutch head chef and TV personality, known for his culinary expertise and the Michelin-starred restaurant that bears his name.

After finishing secondary school, Ron Blaauw began his culinary journey by working as a cook at De Kersentuin in Amsterdam.
He gained experience at other notable restaurants like Aujourd’hui and 't Jagershuis.
In 1999, he opened his own restaurant, Ron Blaauw, in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.
His cooking there earned him one Michelin star in 2004 and 2005.
From 2006 onwards, he consistently received two Michelin stars each year, as recognized by the Michelin Guide.

In 2011, Blaauw moved his restaurant to Amsterdam.
At the original location, he created a new bistro-style fish restaurant called Ron’s Vis van de Dag (Ron’s Fish of the Day).
On March 27, 2013, he announced the closure of his eponymous restaurant, followed by the opening of Ron Gastrobar at the same location on April.

Blaauw participated in several series of the Dutch version of Top Chef on RTL in 2009, 2011, and 20121.

Blaauw serves as the “culinary director” of the HME Group (Horeca Management Entertainment Group) in Abcoude.
The group manages various restaurants, including Groot Paardenburg, Brasserie 't Bonte Schort, Restaurant Sophia, De Eendracht, Brasserie Keyzer, 't Amsterdammertje, and L’Entrecôte1.
