Georgianna Hiliadaki is a Greek Michelin star chef and restaurateur. Along with her partner, Nikos Roussos, she forms the dynamic “Greek power duo.” Together, they are the executive chefs and co-founders of the Hospitality Group Modern Greek Food Group (MGFG). Their flagship restaurant, Funky Gourmet, located in Athens, Greece, boasts an impressive two Michelin stars and was founded in 2009.
Georgianna Hiliadaki’s culinary journey has been marked by creativity, innovation, and dedication.
Born in Athens, Hiliadaki studied European Relations and Italian at the University of Reading. However, her true passion lay in the culinary arts. She pursued her dream by attending the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York City, where she earned degrees in culinary arts and restaurant management.
After returning to Athens in 2009, Georgianna and Nikos opened what began as a private chef business. This venture eventually evolved into the renowned Funky Gourmet restaurant. The restaurant’s unique and avant-garde approach to Greek cuisine earned it its well-deserved Michelin stars.
In addition to Funky Gourmet, Georgianna and Nikos expanded their culinary influence. They co-founded OPSO Restaurant in London in 2014, which has been recognized by the Michelin Guide as a “good plate” restaurant. They also opened Pitta Bun in London’s Carnaby section.
Georgianna Hiliadaki’s talent has not gone unnoticed. In 2017, she was named the Best Female Chef in Greece and ranked as the 4th Best Female Chef in the World by The Best Chef Awards.
Georgianna’s commitment to pushing culinary boundaries and celebrating Greek flavors has left an indelible mark on the global gastronomic scene.
